After Hours is a free blackjack practice game for your browser. No account is required. Practice chips have no monetary value and cannot be purchased, transferred or redeemed. There are no cash prizes or other rewards of monetary value.

Your saved table

We store your hand, practice chip balance, latest 100 hands and session statistics in a server database. A randomly generated, essential browser cookie connects you to your table. It is not an account and does not automatically work on other browsers or devices. We store a hash of that cookie’s identifier, not the cookie itself. The server deals cards and processes game moves. Internet access and cookies are required to play.

Saved tables expire after 90 days without a visit or game move. Expired tables cannot be reopened and are removed during periodic cleanup triggered by site visits; removal may happen later than the expiry date. Your preferences and play timer stay in local browser storage. An existing save from our earlier browser-only prototype can be imported when you first connect.

Operating the service

We record table creation and activity times, return visits, and completed hands to maintain the game and understand overall use. These are browser-table counts, not verified people. Completed-hand operational records are eligible for cleanup after 30 days. We retain recent request identifiers to avoid processing a retried move twice.

To limit excessive requests, the service briefly stores a salted hash derived from the request’s IP address, with counters eligible for cleanup within two minutes. Hosting infrastructure may separately process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to deliver and secure the website. Fonts and game assets are served with the website.

Optional Google Analytics

Google Analytics is available only if you allow optional usage analytics.

If available and you choose “Allow analytics,” Google Analytics 4 measures page views and practice-game activity, such as starting or completing a hand. It may process browser and device information and approximate location. We do not include your saved-table identifier, email address, hidden cards or URL query parameters in our analytics events. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled.

No Google Analytics script or request is sent before you allow it. “Keep analytics off” lets you play normally. Use “Analytics preferences” to change your choice; withdrawing consent stops future measurement and clears this site’s Analytics cookies. It does not automatically delete information already received by Google. The site also keeps analytics off when Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track is enabled. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 90 days, refreshed by activity; Google’s property-level data retention is separately controlled by the site operator. Read Google’s privacy policy.

Advertising

Advertising is not active. This game does not load advertising scripts or set advertising cookies. If ads are introduced, this notice will be updated to explain the advertising providers, data use and available controls. Any required privacy choices will be provided before advertising is enabled.

Your controls

In the table’s Settings, choose “Download my game data” to export your current visible game and session history, or “Delete my saved game” to remove this browser’s table and associated operational records from the live database. Deletion also clears local game preferences. It cannot be undone. Hosting backups, if retained by the provider, may follow a separate retention period.

“Start a fresh session” restores 1,000 practice chips and resets session history; it does not delete operational records. Clearing cookies alone loses access to your saved table without immediately deleting its server record. Without that cookie we cannot recover or identify your previous table. Private browsing or browser cleanup can also remove access.

Sound is off by default. You can change sound, supported vibration and reduced motion in Settings. Your device’s reduced motion preference is also respected.
